There are very few times when life is more dramatic than when something goes horribly wrong. The terrible incident will be clearly remembered for many years. Unlike a happy event, these memories will not fade easily. Years later they will still have the power to frighten a person as much as they did at the time the event happened. It might be asked why frightening events stay with a person longer and clearer than happy events. Happy events can bring on strong emotions, but they are not quite as strong as frightening events.
